Keong-il

Kim Keong-il studied sociology (BA, MA, and Ph D) at Seoul National University and conducted post-doctoral research at the State University of New York-Binghamton and the Maison des Sciences de L’Homme. Formerly a professor at Duksung Women’s University and a visiting researcher at the University of Tokyo, he currently serves as a professor at the Academy of Korean Studies. He has penned A History of the Labor Movement under the Japanese Colonial Rule (published by Changbi), A Study of Yi Jae-yu (published by Changbi), The Theory and Practice of Area Studies, The Modern Era and Modernity in Korea, The History of Modern Labor and Labor Movement in Korea, and Women’s Modern Era and Women of the Modern Era and edited A Study of North Korean Research on the Peasant and Labor Movements of the 1920’s and 1930’s (published by Changbi).
