Park Tae-Gyun studied Korean history (BA, MA, and Ph D) at Seoul National University and, as a visiting fellow, at the Harvard-Yenching Institute. Currently a professor at his alma mater, he has served as a standing advisor to the television documentary series “A Biographical History of Contemporary Korea” (KBS) and “The Truth Can Now Be Told” (MBC) and an editorial board member of academic journals Pacific Affairs (published by the University of British Columbia) and Yeoksa Bipyeong (Historical Criticism). Park’s works include A Study of Jo Bong-am (published by Changbi), Regional Order in East Asia: From Empire to Community (co-authorship; published by Changbi), Giants Who Fell at the Feet of Modern History, A Lecture on the Contemporary History of Korea, Between the Park Chung Hee Model and Neoliberalism, and The Korean War: The Unfinished War, the War That Must End.
