Kim Taekwon

A graduate of the Department of Aesthetics (BA) at Seoul National University, Kim Taekwon has studied in the interdisciplinary program (graduate) in classical studies (Greco-Roman) at the same institution. Since his artistic debut in 2002 with illustrations for “Jang Jung-il’s Romance of the Three Kingdoms” serialized in the daily Munhwa Ilbo and his comic strip Kim Taekwon’s Story of the Crusades on the news website Pressian, he has serialized comics in diverse media. Kim has authored books including A Story of Renaissance Art: Florence, The Return of the Little Prince: How to Survive in a Universe of Neoliberalism, Kim Taekwon’s Story of the Han Dynasty (3 vols.), Kim Taekwon’s Story of the Crusades (5 vols.), and Hitler’s Era of Success (2 vols.) and illustrated works including The Philosophy Gym: 25 Short Adventures in Thinking (published by Changbi; 2 vols.), Jang Jung-il’s Romance of the Three Kingdoms (10 vols.), Erasmus’ Adagia, and Making a Living with Culture. He currently serializes “I Am History” in the daily Hankyoreh.
