Born in Seoul in 1909, and had his childhood in Dae Boo island. He began his career by being selected in annual spring literary contest hosted by Dong-A newspaper company in 1932 with his work, ‘Rubber Shoes’, as well as by being selected in annual spring literary contest hosted by Cho-Sun newspaper company in 1938 with his work, ‘Korean Tortoise’. He published many youth novels and fairy tales through ‘Youth Cho-Sun newspaper’, and ‘Boy’ magazine. His works of literature include ‘The Boy Who Left Home’ (1946), ‘Grape and Bead’ (1946), ‘Three Rabbit Brothers’ (1947) among youth novels, and ‘Korean Tortoise’ (1947) among adult novels.
