For 16 years, Jeong Jae-Min worked in the legal profession in various capacities including an advisor on territory laws to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a case researcher for the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), a military advocate in the National Defense Policy Office of the Ministry of National Defense, and a military prosecutor. Out of a wish to engage in a different field because life is given only once, since 2017, he has worked at the Defense Acquisition Program Administration, which develops, purchases, and exports weapon systems. His greatest interest is a “life led as if living,” and he writes as one way of living in such a manner. He has authored novels Bohemian Rhapsody, Isabu: The Novel, and Dokdo in the Hague and received the 10th Segye Literary Award and the Pohang International East Sea Literary Award sponsored by the daily Maeil Shinmun.
